travel north america canada british columbia fraser canyon

Fraser Canyon is an 84 km long canyon of the Fraser River that runs from the Interior Plateau of British Columbia to the Fraser Valley.
It can offer views of narrow rocky canyons with rapids marking the rapid moving milky Fraser River to relatively wide peaceful vallies where the river runs smooth and wide.
We drove Canada Hiway 1 north from Hope and I was amazed at the number to active trains traversing the canyon, sometimes traveling on both sides of the river at the same time.
The area is known for it's historic Cariboo Gold Rush.
At Hell's Gate, an air tram crosses the river offering dramatic views of the canyon to visitors.
